Enforced viewing of ads in new Adobe Macromedia

April 16, 2007 by: admin

The BBC is reporting that the new version of flash includes DRM and other nasty surprises for users.

“Adobe has created the first way for media companies to release video content, secure in the knowledge that advertising goes with it,” James McQuivey, an analyst at Forrester Research said. Source: BBC

This ought to prove interesting, how many people will back out of watching something if they get the same experience on YouTube as they get at home. If Tivo proves anything, someone will come up with a hack that allows the fast forwarding of the video through the commericals, or a hack that strips out the DRM and commercials as well.
