MTV 2007 Awards wants your spoof
Participatory web takes another great leap forward, and if the statistics are right, you will only be competing with oh say 15% of the web who actually uploads anything what so ever. So your chances of winning the contest that MTV and Yahoo are doing for the MTV video awards are pretty good the fewer who apply. Given that so few make original content, hey you might actually stand a chance in hades of winning something.
This year, MTV, together with Yahoo!, wants you involved in the spoofing process (it is after all, the year of Web 2.0! and user-generated content! and the year of YOU!). All you have to do is choose a movie, put together your own spoof using video and audio clips provided by Yahoo! Movies, and hope for the best. Submit your masterpiece to Yahoo’s video portal. Visitors to the site will vote on all the spoofs (you have until May 21 to submit yours) and the five finalists will get to attend the awards–but only one will go home with a Golden Popcorn in their hand. And winning is all that matters, really. Source: AppScout
So warm up that sony handi cam, you know the one in the back of the closet that you thought you would use to record your daily life or what ever, and the thing ended up not being used after the first day. Nothing is as dull as home movies. Yet if your hankering is to make a spoof using commerical footage, and maybe interject some of your own footage, with voice overs, and other fun stuff, this contest might be for you.
