Widgets for Shoppers and Sites
Mpire has released a Amazon Associates Widget and an eBay widget that you can put on your site to help generate revenue. Many small site web owners, and big web site owners do Amazon stores, but they can be tedious to put together and turn into a revenue channel. The new Mpire widgets aim to help solve that problem for both shop owners and shoppers.
“Widgets are changing and enhancing the Web today, and some analysts are even calling 2007 the ‘Year of the Widget,’” said Matt Hulett, CEO of Mpire. “Mpire’s widgets offer packaged, compelling content for either editorial or advertising space that can actually make money for bloggers and Web publishers. These widgets continue to build on Mpire’s core strategy of helping people make smart buying decisions and providing what we feel is the most comprehensive shopping experience on the Internet today.” Source: emediawire.com
In going through and playing with the widget and the setup, this is totally easy, you can either take pre canned sales channels, or work within your own set of sales channels upwards of 5 total channels. Then it is all plug and play, drop the code into your web site, or sidebar if using Drupal or Word Press, and let the store go about its merry way.
The cool part about this kind of widget is that from the programmability and usability of it is that the lowest common denominator requires cut and paste as well as filling out a form.
The expectation though is that we will see more widgets like this over time, and the Mpire widget is the first one that we have seen that opens up the amazon associates and/or eBay sellers groups in a small but mobile system on the web site. This one is worth checking out.
