Customer Service Hall of Shame

Looking like they are tired of the customer support that they get, PC Pit Stop has decided that they are going to record every single trouble support telephone call that they make, and if it is really poor customer service, then they are going to put that recording on their web site under their “Hall of Shame” process.

The Hall of Shame can be found here.

In listening to them, especially the Dell one, you kind of have to wonder why if they are looking to extend a partition on their system they even bothered to call Dell in the first place. Since we do not know the whole story, we don’t know why they wanted to do it, nor do we know what in house options they looked at first (partition magic comes to mind, but then we don’t know).

Besides sounding like a set up to see how they can set up customer support, and the questions are really basic and simple in the longer run. So this sounds a lot like Crank Yankers fodder, and we are not excusing the customer service that decides they just can’t help out someone. Especially when we could just simply answer the whole thing for them, something special about office geeks I guess.

Sad Very Sad. We love the idea though that they give out their Gateway Serial number on the phone, and it took a couple of iterations for Pit Stop to get it right. There is probably going to be a ton of prank calls to gateway using that one serial number.
