Killer Startups is a neat little site where you can register your startup company, and then have people vote on the value of that company, and make predictions on if you will crash and burn, get bought out, or just perk along surviving. The best part about it is that it makes another excellent research platform for your good Web 2.0 idea.
The Web 2.0 social networking space is crowded, and eventually the whole space is going to boil down to who does the best PR, Marketing, and Branding for their site. There are only so many places you have time to promote your blog, startup, or company. Picking quality will help, and with the voting system in place, you can get a basic feel for how well the sites are doing, and what the quality of the site is about and make better decisions about where you spend your time.
They come at the idea of promotion list from this viewpoint.
We believe “the next YouTube” is going to be somewhere here, on KillerStartups.com. That’s our goal. We aim to provide you with that info right at the birth of the startup, when it’s only a promise. It will be up to you to detect it and do something with that information. We believe our community will be able to spot “the next YouTube”, and in order to achieve this goal, we are providing what we believe to be the right tools for this kind of discovery. Given all the things that are going on, and a crowded field, they might be right that one of the sites they have in their system might be the next big buy out.
It is worth taking a look and registering your site there and seeing what other people think of your idea. Killer Startups also makes a killer resource along with startup search. The tools together are valuable to see just how crowded your field is going to be, and how many others are doing the same thing that you are thinking of.
