Rate new products with the Wize Widget

Wise has opened the door to more customer input by adding a rating system to the Wize widget for blogs. The interesting thing about the whole company is while they are a way to make money off blogs; they are also a company that lets customers rate the products that people make. The rating system is looks like it is fairly anonymous in that they just collect information about the response rather than the person making the response.

Of course, depending on the blog type, what the blog is about, as well as other customer demographic information, it will be easy to figure out who is using the web site. When the widget is called, as well as getting the user feedback from that IP address, knowing who is actually there will be difficult in the longer run. But still a good process for marketing and PR people who want to know more about their customers, and where they are coming from, as well as what they thought of the product.

The more marketing and PR knows about you, the easier it is for them to target specific groups with things they think they will buy.

The Wize Widget is a targeted feed of product photos and rankings, designed specifically to increase conversion on product-focused blogs and web sites. The goal of the Wize widget is to provide customers with the information they need to make a good purchase decisions exactly when and where they need it. Although this service can be used by anybody with a web site, it is especially geared towards bloggers who write about new products, products they love, or product quality. The widget is easy to set up, and will become more customizable over time. Source: Wize.com

The wize widget makes for an interesting junction point between bloggers, readers, and marking/PR folks to see what people think about products.

Of course, this kind of widget would be great on a shopping web site, or a web site that caters to people who love to shop or research on the internet. We can see this being used at car blogs, tech gadget blogs, soap opera blogs, and other common use or generalized use blogs.

It will be interesting to see what the adoption of the wize widget will be, and how it will be used.
