Pay Junior so much for age verification

Like we already don’t have enough problems with disengaged parents trying to raise kids by buying them things, keeping in contact with cell phones if at all, and other generally bad parenting skills, Pay Junior comes along as a web based system that allows a parent to manage juniors chores around the house.

What ever happened to the sticky on the fridge in handwriting?

PAYjr was officially founded in August of 2004 but work started on PAYjr back in September of 2001. The company started with the idea of solving the problem of today’s youth not being able to buy things online in a safe and effective manner. Once the problem was analyzed, it was realized that not only was there not a safe place online for teens to make purchases but there was also a lack of financial tools. Several years of sleepless nights and a million lines of code later, PAYjr is now a leader in the industry, providing the world’s first online allowance and chore management system along with innovative hands-on tools such as the PAYjr Prepaid MasterCard® for ages 13 and older. Ok, it will probably take off, it will probably be popular, but I would still want the sticky on the fridge, and my parents to talk to me rather than monitor what the heck I am doing on the internet and how I spend my money.

Did anyone notice that all you need is a credit card number to pass most adult age verification systems? Rather than stealing Mom or Dad’s number, have them sign you up for this, you get a prepaid credit card to go along with it. While mom and dad can track your transactions, usually porn sites come in a nice innocuous plain brown wrapper as a transaction. It will not scream porn, it will say, blah payment system. If Mom and Dad are computer illiterate or not up to speed on payment processing systems, there you go kiddo, in like flint. Happy days.

So it will probably be popular, and parents won’t get it, but all those age verification systems based on a credit card number, oh yeah. That is unless Pay Junior gets it, and the parents put in some kind of control, or there is something else that is not immediately obvious. Parenting by the internet, yeah.
