Apple ITouch Ships September 28th
Ah are we disappointed, the apple ITouch does not ship until September 28th, meaning we have to wait. So here is this wiz bang cool thing, and we know that there is no way that we are going to get one as a demo which is unfortunate. Then half the fun is in the waiting for something, yet in the mean time, we still have to wait for the apple touch IPod, and waiting is not a strong point there.
In the mean time consuming the news on the new range of IPods has been an entertaining diversion as just about everyone is writing about the thing, beyond Steve Jobs announcement that the thing exists. There is just something about the way that Apple does things that provides not only the desired Geek Lust and the I WANT lines on people’s foreheads, but the completely slick way of addressing the way that they are doing to ship something that is really quite cool.
In going through the technical specifications on this puppy, it looks like they took the things they liked from everyone, and mashed it up into one device. Think of it as the ultimate mashup of proven components like Wi-Fi in the Zune, flash memory from their own experience with devices, touch screen from the Iphone, and you pretty much so have the whole thing in a nutshell.
Not a bad way of approaching the development of a product, and while we are disappointed that we basically have to wait, this means that there will be another long line at the Apple Store, and braving the line should be interesting. If anyone knows of anyone waiting at the Apple Store for the new IPod Touch, give us a shout, we would be interested to know how many people are going to wait in line for days just to get their hands on one of these puppies.
