One of our favorite blogs, and one of our favorite web personalities have teamed up, as Marshall goes over to read write web as a full time employee. This ought to make an already great blog even better, and we are looking forward to getting an even more interesting viewpoint on the world of the web.
In order to join R/WW and work more on his independent consulting practice, Marshall has resigned from his role as Director of Content at SplashCast Media, a media syndication company. Many of you will remember Marshall from his previous job as lead blogger at TechCrunch. Before that, Marshall was the editor of AOL’s Social Software Weblog and he’s also written for NetSquared, a project of the nonprofit tech assistance organization CompuMentor. So Marshall brings to Read/WriteWeb a wealth of tech blogging experience and he will be an integral part of our team going forward. Source: RRW
Overall this should be a good thing to see, and make read write web more compelling than it is already. The cool part is that read write web is independent, they make enough money to pay costs and lifestyle. Obviously they are doing much better if they can bring in three people full time as lead writers, and support them along the way.
Marshal says on his blog that he is excited about the change, and that alone should increase the coolness of the whole RRW experience. Anything approached with enthusiasm promises to be better for everyone. We also hope that he does not abandon his own blog in favor of RRW totally.
In the mean time, just about everyone is going to be expecting great things to come of this, and in the longer run, it should be interesting to see how the three writers compliment each other, and how well they work together to make RRW even better than it is.
So all you bloggers out there looking for good blogging jobs, and good stories on people and places that have made it, check out the RRW saga, it is one of the more closely followed blogger success stories out there. With RRW now able to support three full time bloggers, it shows that it is possible to make it in the blogging world.
