Do not Tase me Bro

Another web 2.0 viral hit, the student that was tasered by Florida Police while trying to ask Senator Kerry a question at a political meeting has become the latest in a long series of viral hits in Web 2.0. While there are rumors that he did this on purpose as a way to become a viral star on YouTube, no one can really prove the motivations, and frankly getting tasered to become an Internet super star is taking that “Personal Danger” level a bit too far.

He even has his own logo now as his statement “Please Don’t Tase me Bro” is starting to show up as a logo design, t-shirt, you name it the whole bit.

The video has become a viral hit, and one of the most searched for items within Google trends over the last couple of days. Just about everyone has picked it up now, and no surprise that the merchants are working out a way to profit on one of the more memorable statements made in public and caught on camera.

The best part is that depending on what your political bent is, and within the abilities of Web 2.0 to transmit something very quickly over the Internet, the student either deserved the “law and order” cops did good, to how dare they police brutality. There is no way that anyone is going to back away from this one and try to figure out what really happened, and the tape is so crappy that there is no way to know what the student was doing when he was tased.

Realistically, even happened, and it has become a viral hit, with a way for people to make money off the student not wanting to be tased, and overall an excellent demonstration on how web 2.0 makes just about anything possible in very short order. As well as providing people with a way to see the moment, and comment on it according to their belief systems. Although we will disagree with the Neocons, the student may have been a bone head, but at that moment with many cops on top of him, did he deserve to be tased.

Even against his requests, begging and pleading not to be tased.
