Linked In helps create a private blogging community
No matter where you blog, you eventually gather an audience, or a small group of people that you really trust around you blog. Linked in has become quite the system to use to keep track of the folks who you really trust, without having to deal with the issues of a Facebook or MySpace “group” that allows in just about everyone who asks for it.
Essentially, what we are doing is making a small group of like-minded people, clustering them in Linked In, and then using e-mail to keep in touch, share ideas, and otherwise bounce stuff off each other.
If you could have private groups like this in Facebook that might be a good marketing thing, ok Facebook?
This is an interesting use of Linked In, and probably an unintentional use in the longer run. While you do have a collection of people in linked in, you can cluster them by adding things to their entry, then making a question to that group “peers”. The good part is that you can really focus the question on a small group of people without having to spam the planet to get an answer.
Neat way of using Linked in, although it would be great if there were a formal way of doing this rather than tinkering with the system to get what you want, and the lack of any sort of private collaborative space in Facebook, you make a solution where you can.
Although that would be a killer app, a private collaborative space for people within the social networking systems.
We are sure that law enforcement will not like that idea.
