The Church of Google

If you reject “god” because the existence cannot be proven except through faith, may we present this alternative church to you, it is the church of Google. It might better fall under the idea of a cult, but then it might not. While many folks, from Heinlein to Hubbard, to just about everyone else including Jim Jones and Charles Manson, gravitate to popularity or charisma, the church of Google offers an alternative that looks part cult, part joke, and very irreverent.

We at the Church of Google believe the search engine Google is the closest humankind has ever come to directly experiencing an actual God (as typically defined). Real or not, joke or not, the best places to go visit are the hate mail and the commandments. They make for a quick laugh, and is very in line with the Boomers Bible. Roll over laughing is the hate mail; people are taking this kind of thing far too seriously. While it is uncertain if the church of Google is a joke or not a joke, it is really interesting to see the passion that people go after the church with.

We all knew that Google was popular, we also knew that is has its good and bad press. The church seems to be equally interesting. Check it out, have a laugh, enjoy your day.
