Defendants get records in Christopher Vaughn Case
The prosecution has turned over records to the defense in the Christopher Vaughn murder case. The records that the District Attorney has so far turned over include:
he records, given to lawyers defending Christopher Vaughn, include a list of additional witnesses who could be called at trial. They include a life-insurance official at Ameriprise Financial, an employee of American Express Financial, a subpoena analyst at JP Morgan Chase Bank and a paralegal at John Hancock Life Insurance Co. Also turned over to defense attorneys were a 71-page July 20 Illinois State Police report on Chase Bank credit card records, a 150-page response to a subpoena of Ameriprise Financial and a 135-page Sept. 6 response from John Hancock Life Insurance. Interestingly enough, some phone recordings were also turned over at the same time. The prosecutor in this case has decided to seek the death penalty. Otherwise, this seems like normal document turn over and part of standard court due diligence when it comes to making sure that the defense and the prosecutors have the same information to work from.
