This is so much cooler that the “Build a Bear Store” a new store concept is opening up that will allow kids to build their own robots. While we may not have to bow down to our robot masters yet, finally seeing something open up that fun science kind of projects, there could be fun here for the whole family.
With stores that look like spaceships, a comic book line and a Web site featuring games and other activities, Robot Galaxy looks to become a multichannel brand that appeals to boys up to age 12. “When you look at the retail landscape today, there’s really not much being done for this demographic,” said Ken Pilot, whose title is chief galaxy officer of New York-based Robot Galaxy. Frankly, this might not just appeal to boys age 12 and above, this should appeal to just about everyone who wants to build a robot. From girls and boys to mom and dad, this is the kind of store that we hope takes off.
It is a fun thought, now if they can just build high power lasers into the thing, and give it a voice, or words to say “Take us to your leader” this could just be a good kicking idea in time for the holidays.
