TV B Gone where to get it

With all the hoopla over the Gizmodo prank of turning off tv’s at CES, the upsurge in people looking for TV-B Gone has been interesting to watch. TV-B-Gone is a universal television remote that allows you turn off just about any television anywhere. Here is how it is done according to Instructables.

This TV-B-Gone uses a 9V battery to send its signal through a matrix of 20 IR LEDS. This extends the working range of the device to about 90ft (line of sight). Using this in a regular sized room you are pretty much guaranteed to kill the TV no matter where you point it. Instructables

Make has a series of different types of TV-B-Gone from the standard key chain to an ultimate version that has longer range and fewer LED’s thus harder to trace down to a person in the audience. You can even buy the kit to build this at Make here.

The interesting part to all this is that people have seen the video, right or wrong, and more likely turned the whole experience into a guilty pleasure. Fun, but there could be ramifications. In the mean time, buy the kit, have some fun, don’t do it at CES, would not be surprised if people get frisked at the next CES, just in case.
