Zivity like Model Mayhem only with a twist
If you are a photographer, you already know about Smugmug, flickr and photobucket. There are more niche sites like Model Mayhem that also provide support to photographers and aspiring models. There is a new site hitting the news called Zivity that promises to add a social and payment network to the whole idea of looking at pictures of nude models.
The bad part is that there is a monthly access fee, the good part is that this has some potential. The good potential, actually being able to find out about the artist, the model, and the work by engaging in chat, or other social networking processes.
The bad part is that you will get to find out all the flaws of the model (is she/he a bitch? Hard to work with, pain in the ass?) and all the flaws of the photographer (is she/he creepy? Makes you feel exploited, fun, easy to work with?).
The cooler part is that the program pays the artist, meaning money will likely be funneled back into taking more pictures, hence better rates for models, maybe some food and pay the rent on the part of the photographer too. You also don’t have to be naked.
A monthly subscription gives members access to all of Zivity’s social and creative features, including our web-based photo set publishing process and our patent-pending, dollar-backed voting system which pays revenues directly to Zivity’s artists Source: Zivity
This looks like it will be an interesting project, and we have signed up for a beta account, it might make a fun adjunct to the pictures we host out at smugmug.
