Are you seeking to advance or start your academic career in a creative and fast-paced learning environment with a focus on meeting the needs of adult learners through flexible and accessible programs?

City University of Seattle is seeking part-time adjunct faculty who can manage and teach innovative academic programs in a team-based, collaborative environment. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for the delivery of course(s), ensuring the quality and integrity of the delivery via distance learning, providing proactive student support, and actively participating in academic quality programs. Leading candidates should have experience with and be committed to a practitioner faculty model.

To become a part of the City University of Seattle Faculty team you must have the following qualifications:

• Master’s or doctorate degree in a computer science disciplines as defined by program or location.
• Currently working in computing technologies, preferably in the high technology industry.
• Ability to add value to the lesson plans by using own research, social networking sites, social book marking sites, self generated audio/video assets for inclusion in the classroom.
• Mentoring students through academic-related issues and addressing concerns to promote student success.
• Prior educational experience teaching online preferred.
• Ability to work in a creative and fast-paced environment. Ability to manage ambiguity, and stress.
• Meet deadlines necessary for effective student feedback (grades, papers, and attendance).
• Ability to work comfortably with a virtual team whose focus is on meeting the needs of learners by developing flexible, accessible and innovative programs.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
• Ability to present a professional image on behalf of the academic school and CU as appropriate in relation to the community.
• Culturally competent to serve a diverse student and faculty body.
• Proficiency with MS Office or other office systems (open office) products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
The requirements listed below demonstrate core strengths are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
• Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in field related to area of responsibility.
• Experience using Blackboard Academic Suite with templated course content.
• Experience in higher education setting with a diverse, global audience.
