A great talk from I can haz cheeseburger just happened, where you go into the idea of managing growth, when they are looking at what they are projecting for 2008 of having a billion page views over the year. They are saying that at their peak time they are getting some 80 page views per second, which is enough to bring down about any system shared or on a non-scalable system.
That is the interesting bit is when you hit a meme, how do you keep your web site up and running, when the whole internet loves you. A billion page views put the firmly in Microsoft, CNN, and other major sites territory, just to look at pictures of cats that have been captioned with very bad English.

Beh Huh did a great job with the presentation, what made it very interesting was trying to work out how to manage growth when it is exponential like they are seeing for LOLCats. If you think you have problems now, think of something on the order of 80 page views per second, most systems would ask you to leave, and it makes it much more difficult to find good hosting with a sense of humor that will want to have a site like that on the network.
