Gnomedex08 Taking better Photographs

Great talk about taking better pictures by Kris Krug this morning about some of the tips and tricks you can use to take better pictures. What is interesting is how he approached it, in that you have to have your own style, but follow some of the simpler rules. If you want to do this as a profession, it is more about learning to compose, and knowing your gear than it is anything else in many ways. Do not be afraid of the manual setting, and really learn how to take pictures that you will generally like.

Might be a good time to take a photography class here now and then, just to keep up with the basics. Overall a very good speech on how to take better pictures, especially in a convention setting as we are in here today.

He brought out some interesting ideas, and had to take a quick note that my camera settings needed to be changed during this shoot, as it was all over the map. Interesting to know that I should have brought up the ISO to 1600, where I will usually shoot concerts at. Why it was at 400 this morning, should have checked gear before I took off.
