Google Ads way off in key word relevance

While I generally like Google Ads, and use them, this is to the point where the process is useless. Here is a brand new article on Apple computers, and rather than seeing something Apple related, what does Google Ads give back? Global Warming, how does global warming tie into an article on Apple?

google adwords relevance way off lately

I have been noticing this more and more frequently in that the vaunted Google ads system just seems to be returning nothing relevant. Even had to go back in to adwords and set up that I don’t want dating services, drug ads, or other types of ads on the site. While Zyprexa use might be up, frankly I don’t want to carry those kinds of ads on the site.

Maybe Louis Gray was right on the “no ads for you” rant he gave out a while back, but for the wrong reason. Not that it clutters up the site, but that the ad quality often stinks and detracts from the blog. If you are reading something about how dark matter is observed when two galaxies collide, and the advert from Google is all about drugs or dating, well no one is going to click on the ad if they are more interested in dark matter and galaxies colliding.
