Watching the market meltdown the friend feed way

Web 2.0 takes deeper steps into monitoring information as we watch Wall Street melt down a bit today (15 September 2008). Nice Fish Films has opened up a room on Friend Feed so that people can monitor the day, with Wall Street Breaking News.

While twitter is alive, being tied into the room, a web 2.0 based service where all of us can share information that makes sense on the day that is to be (Futures down 50 overall) as we watch Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch suddenly end their existence on a last minute deal on Sunday. This is where web 2.0 can show its strength, and how people powered news can help deliver just the stuff you want to see, or share the stuff that you are coming across.

It will be interesting to see how the room works during the day, let alone the historical record this will provide for people who want to go back and take a look at what happened today.
