Image via WikipediaThere is a brand new “I hate Kevin Rose” web site that hit the internet today, and it is totally brand new, no logo, and just an entry or two. For anyone who has been frustrated by Digg, or the Silicon Valley made it big attention that he gets, then this might be the site for you. While we have covered a lot of the press about Kevin, this is the first dedicated web site to the “I Hate Kevin Rose” fan club.
What makes it interesting is that as we get into more web 2.0, and the more that we share what we think, it becomes more imperative in some ways to think about what we are doing before we do it. Draw downs at companies, forced layoff’s, VC and other funding companies pointing the way to mass layoffs that influence everyone, and the mass adoption of the internet as a mass media for anything someone would care to talk about. This also means that these kinds of web sites will become more frequent as disillusioned people hit the streets wondering what they are going to do next.
To close I would just say that this site would have never been created if something beneficial would have followed Digg. So what, you built a site that is now failing due in part to the fickle and unpredictable nature of your users. Maybe you should have seen that coming since you’re a god among men in this “web 2.0 world” you constantly get paid to speak about. How about you quit conference hopping and pontificating on the merits of Earl Grey and actually do something worthwhile. Build something that works because frankly, without Digg, Pownce wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding. Source: I hate Kevin Rose web site
Interesting counterpoint and something that I thought would happen eventually, and while this is not a rush to judgment, this is the kind of web site that can get quickly out of control. I am thinking back to the issues and problems surrounding Kathy Sierra and that major blow out on the web or the other internet site/group, Autoadmit.
Depending on what you think of Kevin Rose, well there is an opportunity to opine on the subject.
