Typealizer interesting results from two different blogs

I write all over the internet, but interested in seeing the new Typealizer program to see how my blogging style coverts between two different subjects. I ran one for how I write on Techwag, and one for Alternating Reality Books, and got two very different results.

For Techwag, I came out as ISTJ – The Duty Fulfillers, which is interesting because I disagree with this. The result here could not be further off the mark because of how I perceive risk, and the risks I am willing to take. At times it is almost a careless disregard for risk when it comes to technology and business. Typealizer though states that the ISTJ boils down to:

The responsible and hardworking type. They are especially attuned to the details of life and are careful about getting the facts right. Conservative by nature they are often reluctant to take any risks whatsoever. The Duty Fulfillers are happy to be let alone and to be able to work in their own pace. They know what they have to do and how to do it.

For the most part (unless it is money) I am responsible, generally hard working, but I am willing to take a large number of risks along the way.

For Alternating Reality, I came out as ENTJ – The Executives, which is also interesting because I wanted a more conversational tone around the blog. If people are hitting the blog and seeing an ENTJ rather than the more conversational tone I was looking for, this might be a reason why the blog is not taking off the way that I had wanted it too. There is no amount of advertising that is going to work here, if the tone of the blog pushes people off, and then I need to change the tone, and the writing style to suit what I want to do. Typealizer states that the ENTJ boils down to:

The direct and assertive type. They are especially attuned to the big picture and how to get things done. They are talented strategic planners, but might come off as insensitive to others needs and appear arrogant. They like to be where the action is and like making bold and sweeping changes in complex situations. The Executives are happy when their work let them learn and improve themselves and how things work around them. Not being very shy about expressing their ideas and often very outgoing they often make excellent public speakers.

While this is a beta program, it has already given me ideas on how to change Alternating Reality to better suit the audience I want to build out for that blog. Given that my use of Alternating Reality has been spotty until I got my act together over there this last Christmas, it is more like a blog restart right now, if the conversational tone is off, then the adoption of the blog, and the needs of the audience are at odds with each other.

In all, while Typealizer is still in beta, it has given me interesting ideas, something to see if I can change the blogs tone overall, and be more in line with the image that I have for that blog. Cool tool, fun, and very interesting how it looks at how personality and tone come out of the blog. More of a toy, but if it helps someone be a better blogger, then there is nothing wrong with that.
