Madrona Venture Venture Group joins the blogosphere, adding a much needed Venture Capital voice for everyone to follow. Let’s just hope they keep this one up, right now, many startups need to know what to expect when it comes to working with a VC, or just trying to survive 2009.
Madrona is a venture capital company here in Seattle who has been in business since 1995. I have been to at least one of their speeches through MIT Venture Lab, and have had the fortune to follow them on line in other places. The launching of a blog hopefully will have the same influence that Andy Sack and Marcello will have on people in getting the word out about how startups work. There has always been a lack of good information out there for Seattle startups, adding Madrona to the blogroll will help, as long as they keep the blog current. Unfortunately there are only three entries since October 2008. This is probably why this flew under the radar so long, no visibility at all.
Techflash points out that Madrona has a real opportunity here to become the voice of startups and venture capital in the Pacific Northwest. This is an important thing, we need more voices badly, and Madrona already has the reputation to gather a large number of followers today, without having to work very hard to do this. Blogging is not easy, but if Madrona can keep up with it, then we stand a very real chance of having first hand information, from a VC group, to help out Seattle startups.
