Another downside to Twitter Any cute guys out there

Posted by admin on September 22, 2009 at 3:25 pm.

We recently put one of my established companies on twitter and selected some very good people to follow based on what we were doing and what the vertical for that company is and what we are about. The interesting part to this is that we put this up on Sunday, and here it is some 72 hours later and there is a pile of spammer girls that have decided they wanted to follow the company we put on twitter.

If anything says never ever do you want to auto follow anyone, then this is it.

Right I have nothing against anyone that wants to follow a two year old comic book shop online, but asking for single guys or cute guys, or something else along the way well really isn’t going to work well for me to follow someone back. If you are doing social networking to support your company, never ever auto follow, it is so much more appropriate and better for your companies image ot have some control over who you follow and who follows you. If they look like spammers, then they probably are, and do you really need a bunch of followers who are spammers to keep your company stats up?

It is much better to your social reputation to ensure that the people who follow you have something to contribute other than “any sexy single cute guys out there?”
